A Day in the Life at Our Gau Shelter

From the first light of dawn to the quiet of the night, discover how every Gau Mata in our care is fed, tended and loved.

The day at our shelter begins long before sunrise. As the first rays touch the fields, our sevaks are already at work — preparing fresh chara (fodder), cleaning the sheds, and filling the water troughs so that every Gau Mata wakes to a clean, comfortable home.

Morning Feeding

Each cow has her own dietary needs. Older cows and those recovering from illness receive a softer, nutrient-rich mix, while healthy cows graze on green fodder and dry hay. Nothing is left to chance — every meal is measured, and every animal is observed.

Health Checks

By mid-morning our veterinary team makes its rounds. Minor wounds are dressed, hooves are examined, and any cow showing signs of distress is moved to the care unit for closer attention.

  • Fresh water refilled three times a day
  • Daily cleaning of every shed
  • Individual health monitoring for rescued cows

When you sponsor a Gau Mata, this is the daily rhythm your kindness makes possible. Sponsor a cow today and become part of her story.
